I bought the Koh mop to see if it was worth getting. I’ve been using it for the last few months to clean my engineered timber, and tile floors. Here’s my Koh mop review.
What is the Koh Mop
The Koh mop is a spray mop that uses the Koh cleaning fluid. This means you don’t need to buy seperate cleaning products. The mop features a removable microfibre cleaning pad which can be chucked in the wash after mopping.
Why I like the Koh Mop
Spray System
Using a spray mop like the Koh is so much easier than using a bucket of water and mop. For timber and engineered timber floors you’re not supposed to mop using a lot of water as it can warp the timber.
The spray system uses a tiny amount of cleaning product to effectively lift dirt without saturating your floors. It’s much quicker cleaning floors using a spray mop.
Washable Microfibre Cleaning Cloths
The cleaning pad on the Koh Mop does most of the work. The Koh mop is unique as it comes with two different cloths. Green ones for lifting off dirt and a blue one to polish floors. I use both to clean my floors. I start with the green one and then go over it again with the blue cloth (without spraying). This leaves my floors clean and streak free.
The pads are washable. So after mopping you can just throw them in the wash. I usually wash them after every use (as I find it keeps the floors really clean) and they’ve held up well to lots of machine washing cycles. This is such an improvement over those old sponge mops that would always be dirty and unhygenic.
Universal Cleaner
I have a cat and I’m always conscious as to what products I’m spraying on the floors. The universal cleaner is safe to use around pets (although I obviously don’t spray it near my cat) and is also safe for asthma and allergy sufferers.
Large Fluid Tank
The fluid tank holds enough solution to clean my apartment numerous times. I don’t need to keep refilling it. And unlike some other spray mops I’ve reviewed, it doesn’t leak!
What I don’t like about the Koh Mop
Spray Handle
My spray handle is still working fine, but I’ve heard from other people that the handle can become attached. Koh will replace it if this happens.
My Koh Mop Review – is it worth getting?
If you use the Koh cleaning solution already, then the mop is definitely worth getting. The mop performs well and I like the fact it comes with two types of cleaning pads. It’s definitely a big upgrade over mop and bucket cleaning.
